camshaft?

me scoob had a service on 38k ,3k later i baught it ,its now done 41k question is should i get the cam done on it or do i go back to the plaice i got it and demand they do it as its a secondhand scoob under three months warrenty?any ideas or sugestions welcome

I'm not quite following you there... are you saying that it has a problem with the camshaft or are you talking about the cambelt change?

no their is no problem im just worried about this 41k service,do i have to have the cambelt done at 41k ,how would i know if their was a problem with the cambelt?

If I were you I'd have the belt changed just for peace of mind.

cambelt isnt typically done on the 41k - more the 30 or 60k depending on the year of the scoob (someone shoot me down here).... The cambelt is typically changed as precuation because if it goes - boy you know about it (big bang :shock: )

on classics (7.5k service interval) its every 45k miles/3 years whatever comes first. Its not a cheap job - definately not if done at a dealers but its well worth doing because like gar says if it goes then its a serious mess to sort out. Whats the situation re warranty? cos if you arent in warranty when it needs doing find yourself a nice local specialist and have it done there - it will save you hundreds of pounds (not exaggerating!)
