2.1 engines

whats the crack? i was going 2.3ish but enginetuner do a 2.1 so does lateral and now sc have announced they are doing a 2.1, i know competition is great between tuners, but how do you choose? are they better or more popular (cheaper) than a 2.3? note added the ish as sc are saying theres a 2.3, 2.35 and a 2.4, totally baffeled me

Re: 2.1 engines

2.1 are cheaper than a 2.3 as you use a 2.0 ltr block (preferabl cdb for strength), but for a 2.3 you need a 2.2 block to start and those can be expensive.

Re: 2.1 engines

difficult decision i have to make between 2.1 or the 2.3, i love the revvy engine of a 2.0 so a 2.1 would be the option there, i want to achieve 600bhp at some point so i need a gt35 or similar and that will be very laggy on a 2.1 so a 2.3 is required there, what i need to find out is, has anybody got a gt35 on a 2.1? and has anybody got a high powered 2.3 and whats it like to drive? only been in one claimed 500+bhp 2.1 with a 30/76 turbo fitted to a classic and that didnt seem that quick! i doubt it was making big hp as its also doing crap 1/4 mile, one step at a time i suppose, let me get that "bolt on" sh1t sc now claiming they have the ultimate "bolt on"

Re: 2.1 engines

there are many ways to crack an egg, a 2.1 can come from a 2.2 bored and linered, 2.1 can come from a 2.0 bored and thicker liners.

does that confuse the issue? lol

difference between 2.2 and 2.33 is height of the piston as i understand it

2.1 is a 2.0 bored and linered????

2.1 are usually a 2.0 with a stroker kit as being offered by www.enginetuner.co.uk and www.scoobyclinic.co.uk

The 2.1 with the GT35/42 is being built with VVT heads, cams, cosworth inlet and lots of other goodies. Cant see lag being an issue.
