Prices

Well im looking at getting a 2.0L Non turbo Sport, reg roughly 1997 with over 100000miles on the clock. The prices seem to be around 1500 - 2000 to me this seems very cheap! Is this because its the non turbo version and quite old or should they be a bit more then that and I need to be careful?

Re: Prices

Be very careful when buying. You should get a good condition Sport for 1500 - 2000. (The Sport non turbo should be cheaper)

This link should help: Subaru Impreza - Buying Checklist

Re: Prices

Yeah my insurance is stopping me getting a Turbo, so thought the sport would be a good starter Subaru to have a go with.
Also I want to go Jap.

If I was your age I would look at a 1.6 Dohc Civc 3door Vti wolf in sheeps clothing 160bhp and if you go for the jap import the Sir its 170bhp very under estimated car you be surprised this my Sir rolling roaded it was standard apart from Magnecore blue leads, irridium plugs and a K&N cone filter and it roared when it hit Vtec just ask ED aka The Pilot

Re: Prices

just bought my second sport, 2001 on a Y. bang on 100,000 miles. Advertised for 1500, 2 owners clean as a whistle(well it was filthy till i cleaned). All it needed was new knock sensor and rear shocks(do that tomorrow) and perfect. last owner had it for six years and he was in his fifties owner before was the local doctor. Took a chance and offered him 1100 and he went for it. Stick with your first instinct and buy the impreza, had my last one for six years and only had to change brakes and tyres nothing else. If you willing to travel there are dozens for sale in the highlands. try the highland news website or scot-ads. Loads of old geezers have them up here for the 4 wheel drive and look after them!!!!!

Agree with above,a non turbos not gonna be as much fun as some lets say "mildly hot" hatches-if its purely for the looks then go for a scooby but if you like a play now an again prepare to be beat by cars that are (or im sure would seem so to you) inferior with superior performance to a non turbo scooby.

Re: Prices

hi think i would buy the sivic instead of a non turbo, most people dont know the difference between a nonturbo and a wrx and every one (round here anyway) wants to race a scooby. infront or behind your choice.
