Quick question about the gauge needles.

Hey all. Just had a quick reccy on the search form, didn't seem to find anything related.

My buddy over in the states has a 2005 STi, and when he starts his car up the needles do a quick sweep of the range.

My Type-UK 2005 STi doesn't do the same - it just starts up as any other normal car would. Also, my starter motor sounds a lot weaker than the one in that clip, although seeing as it does its job I'm not entirely bothered about it.

Finally (okay, maybe not a quick question after all), his key looks like this, whereas mine looks like this. Any reason why his Scoob seems to have a few more fripperies with it?
