Oil??

I've recently become a scooby owner for the first time. I've got a classic '93 WRX. The thing is i'm going to do a small service myself and wondered what was the best oil, filters, plugs, etc, to use on this model? Cheers.

Re: Oil??

Use a good fully synthetic engine oil. Popular brands for scooby owners seem to be Motul, Sylkolene, Millers etc. and you won't go wrong with any of those. Personally use and strongly recommend Motul 300v. I use 10w 40 year round and has served me well but a 5w 40 or 15w 50 will be fine also.

Also take a look at this thread and if you want some professional advice leave a post and Oilman will get back to you.

Re: Oil??

I bought most of my service bits from Ebay, fuel filter, oil filter, NGK PFR7B plugs and fully synthetic 5W 40 from Halfrauds.

Re: Oil??

Synthetic is the way to go, we recommend either 5w-40 or 10w-50/15w-50 depending on state of tune and use.

Most popular from us are the ester based synthetics, these are as good as oil gets and from the likes of Silkolene, Motul 300v, Redline and Gulf Comp.

You can find them here Opie Oils - Ester Synthetic

Filters are here Opie Oils - car oil and motorbike oil sales and recommendations

Denso iridium spark plugs should you fancy them are here Car Spark Plugs

Cheers
