out of curiosity, what needs to be done along with turbo upgrade?
fuel pump? air filter? intercooler?
Is yours an STi ?

you could put a 20G on there and some slightly larger injectors, 255 fuel pump, remap and make 400/400 still on the std TMIC..

If yours is a WRX, then a VF43 from the STi, 255 fuel pump, remap and make 340 ish.

In both cases a full decat is best but sport cat would give great results too and make it feel very different from a revving point of view.

Re: whats the best engine?

cheers mate,
i have a WRX and the 2.5.
full decat 2.5inch pipe (apart from the blitz back box which flares out to 3)
and just have a remap and tweaks for running the decat with no overboost problems.
how much stress can the standard gearbox hack?!

Cool

The std 5 speed gearbox on the 06/07 car in stronger than previous years. I have seen no issues with the 06/07 wrx's I have mapped to mid 350 and a bit beyond. Clutch can start to groan a bit at high 300's torque if you are aggressive with it.
