I no it the alarm cos i've bypassed the fuel pump immobiliser to stop it cuttin out by it also does sumthing in the engine which brings on my engine Mgmt light n cuts out the boost from the turbo. also the indicators sometime flash when i lock or unlock the car but most of the time they dont.

Re: Impreza Sigma alarm prob's

id get it to a auto electrician to either remove or repair for u as that could be dangerous, if it just happens in traffic or on a motorway you dont know what could happen,
If its a fubared system id suggest replacing the unit 1 for 1 so either a good 2nd hand sigma or a new one,

Re: Impreza Sigma alarm prob's

I just removed a sigma alarm off mine im pretty sure it cuts out the fuel pump and one of the circuits in the ignition. If you follow the set of black wires from the alarm box and join the circuit at the end of them.. If you lived anywhere near me i would do it for you fella...

Re: Impreza Sigma alarm prob's

I posted on here last week ,with a similar problem, was driving to work and it cut out 100 yds from work.I parked the car up and 25 mins later it started.Someone suggested the immobilizer ,but i had mine fitted brand new last november. As to the indicators flashing - it should be 1 long flash(3 - 5 secs),when locking the vehicle and a short flash when disarming. Get an auto electrician to look at it coz it should not effect the boost

Re: Impreza Sigma alarm prob's

It shouldn't affect the boost but if momentarily cutting out the ignition could give the same feeling as if the boost has been cut and cause the management light to come on. If the immobiliser appears to be playing up then this would be the first thing i would remove from the car. Not to sound funny i am an auto electrician. This would be my first choice...

Mine did the same, had it ripped out and replaced.

Re: Impreza Sigma alarm prob's

thanks guys for all you input. does anyone no how to get hold of sigma to get a replacment box. it's the factory fitted sigma alarm. well the standard impreza sigma alarm anyway. do you have any other ideas as to why my engine light comes on if its not the alarm. i had it but on a diag at a subaru dealership but the only faults that came up was the air mass sensor and the knock sensor. i changed them anyway but it still comes on and the car wont boost till the light goes out. thanks again guys

Re: Impreza Sigma alarm prob's

Would be worth checking to see if there is a wiring fault with the sensors in question. If there is then the replacement parts still wont give correct readings back to the ECU. This can cause a loss of boost and will put the MIL light on
