Re: subaru brake pads

EBC red stuff are pants. Pants when cold n pants when hot................ "don't believe the hype"

Ferrodo DS2500 have very good bite from cold for road use, some dust and a little squeaky but a.o.k.(very recommended).

For fast road/track I'm using Carbotech xp8 pads on my 2003 STI spec c, Loads of dust and really squeally - but proper stopping power.

seconded... and unless you have a very heavy car... avoid EBC reds... they worked great on my Range Rover and Jag xj... but were better than originals on my first scooby... but then tried other pads and realised how crap reds were... live and learn

Ds2500 Ferodo's are very good

Re: subaru brake pads

Would you guys recommend the same for a 2006 sti?
Turns out my front discs are warped and need to replace discs & pads. Have yellowstuff pads on currently and haven't found them to be very good.

Was going to go for EBC turbo groove for the discs.
Will the same DS2500 pads fit my car ok, and will they be better than yellowstuff.

Cheers,
David

Re: subaru brake pads

the ds2500's are over 60 dearer than the yellowstuffs (on camskill.co.uk the ds2500's are 260+del, on ebcbrakesdirect the yellowstuffs are 201 inc del).

Wheres the best/cheapest place to order ds2500's ?

Flip, i was going to say!

try phoning Ian Godney of 'Godspeed Brakes' or maybe Alyn of 'AS Performance', you may get them a little cheaper. Good Standard discs are probably just as good as grooved ones??

anyone tried performance friction pads? are they any good?

Re: subaru brake pads

When I was running Mitsi Galant VR4's. I used all sorts. With a Brembo conversion Carbotech pads are supposed to be the "Bee's Knee's" but I found then horribly noisy. Changed to Mintex one's they were great ........ and cheap.
Used EBC Red Stuff on standard calipers and discs and didn't find any improvement over standard.
