Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo
remember it does depend on how far Simon is prepared to puch the standard motor and how far the owner wants to push it.
Will stick with my MD195 on standard internals for now then. pmsl

Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo
think the owner was up for it as he calls his car the "st500" and "looking to see how far he can push the internals of a sti8" like to see his graph but he has done a runner, no sign of him on sn

Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo
As the main developer and the sole supplier of the S206 turbo, I thought I had better pop in and answer some of your queries.
The S206 has been designed as a 450-500bhp turbo. It has made 500hp+ on 2 of our built 2.1 strokers both of which have ran 120mph + terminals at Shakespeare County, 580lbft on a built 2.5 and we are doing 2 more as we speak, another built 2.5 and a built 2 litre. It's sister unit the S205 has made 500+ on every Evo brave enough to try it and we have so far sold over 35 of those units. There will always be the odd car that fails to make the numbers, this has been discussed on SN whilst dicussing another popular turbo brand ![]() Feel free to pm or call me with any questions you may have. Martyn P.S I have included the graphs for one of the 2.1 strokers. ![]() ![]() |

Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo
As stated above the S206 is a 500+hp capable turbo, it has proved it more than once.
It has also proved it's mustard on the strip running consistent low 11's with 128mph+ terminals in a full trim car. To say that because a turbo is capable of 500hp all will make it is a common mistake, the same can be said for some of the competition. I have fitted and or mapped in the last year or so, a H, a T, a V, a HTA Green, a Blouch Dominator 4, several MD555s an ST380 and 4 S206s. Some have made the grade some haven't, and the turbo isn't always the item at fault. Sometimes it will be something else in the overall spec. Sometimes you find this thing and address it, sometimes you find no real cause and have to leave it be. Please feel free to call or pm me any of your queries. Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo
i have seen the graphs on sn, not doubting your turbo on built engines, just seems strange that its not done very good on the 2.0 standard internal car, will be interesting if/when you map one to see what it does

Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo
In preperation for the last round of the PSDS this weekend, I have remapped my own 2.1 stroker equipped with the S206 turbo for running Sunoco race fuel. Running 2.1 bar boost it made the following figures.
