Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo

Litchfield Imports are currently doing final tests on their new twin scroll Turbo which is designed for their new Type 20. I wouldn't go out and Spend 1500 quid until i saw some reviews and results on that one, i'm not well read on it but i think it's a genuine twin scroll design and not a hybrid. like a big brother to the VF36 maybe! cooool Link: Litchfield

Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo

yes it is a twin scroll. will fit my car

quote:.... "This new twinscroll turbo will bolt directly onto Subaru’s excellent equal length manifold and allows the fitment of our proven Milltek exhaust system. The performance targets for the new turbo were extreme tough. We wanted a turbo with spool up and response that would match or bettered the standard Twinscroll turbo but the design would also have to allow much greater airflow at higher rpm. This is the holy grail of Turbo design after many months of testing and R&D, in conjunction with our technical partners Turbo Dynamics, Litchfield have been able to produce their new Twinscroll turbo".

A bit of a pipe dream at the moment mate. Need a full new set of tyres first to get through yesterdays MOT Have ordered Hankook track tyres. Toyo R888's are so expensive! and so soft that you can leave a trail of rubber (and money) on the road behind you.

Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo

have not spun them, but just a few track days and road use have left my R888's pretty shredded. two tyres failed at MOT but it's really time to replace them all. Will put them on my spare wheels for next track day, so not all lost. keep me posted on the injectors

Re: best "bolt on" 500 bhp turbo

IHI VF37 is fitted to the JDM STI 2003 onwards i think. It's a journal bearing turbo. The VF36 is on the JDM Spec C STI 2003 onwards and is a roller bearing turbo - a bit more responsive and smoother and a little noisier i believe and with titanium inner bits.
