Tyre Choice.

Hi guys,

Just a quick one, I'm currently running on Michelin Eagle F1's and I've found them pretty good in all weathers so far. However as I'm looking at a set of prodrive wheels I'm wondering if there's any other tires out there that you guys have found worked well??

Re: Tyre Choice.

Dont you mean goodyear eagle f1's,lol .A lot of scooby owners favour toyo's as a good all round tyre.On some model years they fitted pirelli P zero's,a good tyre in the dry - but deadly in the wet.I currently have dunlop sp 3000's on mine which are a good tyre in the dry ,but give you the confidence to push the car to its limits in the wet. Also michelin, goodyear and bridgestone do some equally good tyres, its down to your choice, your pocket and your driving style.

Re: Tyre Choice.

toyo's dont seem to be very good on a new age, dont tell me why, but mate had them and wasn't impressed at all. he always has them on his classic though, so shows what difference a different model car makes

Re: Tyre Choice.

My Eagle F1's seem to work well from new. I've seen a few scooby's around with Toyo's on but wasn't sure what model they were and if they were worth the dolla.

t1r and t1s are the normal toyo's

888 are the semi slicks

Re: Tyre Choice.

go for the toyo R888 and just make sure you have your story straight when the rozzers stop you and ask you if they are road legal .... (which they are).

Re: Tyre Choice.

If you want a cheaper alternative... look at these

HANKOOK RS2 Z212

They are brilliant value and last about 6000 miles... great in wet and dry

Very very grippy... not as good as r 888 but close... and better in the wet

Camskill sell them

Track Day Tyres - Trackday Tyres - Motorsport Tyres :: R16" - 205/50/16, 205/50 R16 ::

Re: Tyre Choice.

Sorry guys forgot to ask, is it possible to get a wider tyre than the ones I currently run? Or does the alloy size dictate how wide you can go?? Will this have any negative effect on the car?
