Ninja 2

Hi all,

Finally got around to my first mod today, took myself up to the guys at scooby world and got a ninja 2 back box fitted. Boy dose it sound great! Very happy indeed! I'll be looking at getting a free flow down pipe and centre section to, do I need to get a specific model to match up with the ninja or are they all very similar in fitting?

Cheers all!

Re: Ninja 2

i think the ninja will be a 2.5" pipe. you can get most centre pipes to fit (i.e - some 3") but 2.5 inch ones would be wise for fitting purposes and i don't think you would benefit with a wider pipe. so 2.5 inch all the way through would be good.

why not get a full ninja system? - the ninja sounds real good

Re: Ninja 2

thanks for that pal, yeah I think I might go for the full ninja! The back box sounds great, the full system will really give the neighbors something to think about!?!

Re: Ninja 2

i had a full de-catted system on my MY99 classic with a ninja back box. It sounded loud and unmistakable. A de-catted stainless steel down pipe will really make the car rumble in the cabin and to the whole neigbourhood. put it this way, everyone in your street will know when you are going to work

Re: Ninja 2

It does not matter to much as to which make of de cat downpipe you buy , just make sure you go for one with the bellmouth design at the turbo end, these have a much wider area at the turbo end, and are normally 3' going down to 2.5' allowing for more gases to escape down the exhaust, and allow the turbo to spool up quicker.
Japspeed ,haywood & scott, ninja are some decent makes, and as welll as the difference in noise ,car should definetley feel more responsive

Re: Ninja 2

As above, 'open neck/bell mouth' down pipe. i got one new for 150 delivered, 304 s/steel and it was fantastic. Improved performance and sounded awesome.

i got it from here, but am not sure if they still do them or for your model ( look in the 'coming soon' section) - Online Store For Aftermarket Impreza Performance&Styling @ Discounted Prices - Worldwide Shipping!

Re: Ninja 2

nice one guys, my next question was going to be if a wider down pipe tapering to a slightly smaller one was better.

Re: Ninja 2

A wider downpipe tapering down to a smaller diameter will benefit you if you want to keep the standard 2.5 inch centre section which mates to your ninja back box. if you go for a full 3' downpipe it will not mate up to your existing system.

Re: Ninja 2

Cheers for that chap, didn't realize the centre section was 2.5 inch. That will certainly help will the ordering process!
