Hi, the chances are its a "classic" UK Spec shape wagon if its circa 93-2000. A WRX wagon of that era would be an import, so what you have got your eye on is a UK model from that era. If Im making sense!!

price is pretty comparable wrx to uk turbo, differences are wrx will have more power and gadgets, uk turbo should have full tracable service history.

Most insurance companies will insure UK classic impreza. Some may insure import "WRX" , best phone and find out.

another fast way to tell I THINK going by my WRX Wagon import is that all the stickers are in Japanese, i would imagine if it was a uk spec they would be most in English, please dont quote me on that tho fella. and great choice in moto btw

Please let us have VIN number and chasis number if you need to identify

If you are just after advise on what to buy.. Uk Wagon (Best shape) from 98 (face lift model) produces a standard 218 hp, and will have no issues with insurance and service history etc

Jap Wagon will be in the region of 240-260 hp, but will not have history, and may have some insurance issues... other items will have to be changed to make them UK legal, and they are mapped to run on higher octain fuel generally

But the good news is you can easily obtain 260- 280 hp on a UK turbo 2000 with a few simple and fun modification upgrades :-)

All the best

Re: some advise needed newby to scoobys

not all that much,if your lucky i'd say 5/8 bhp more, would need mapping to get greater gains, but pointless unless you going to to more extensive mods
