Bit of help

Subaru Impreza STi RA - €7,950 - Used Cars on Carzone.ie - New & Used Cars in Ireland Hi guys need a bit of help with this is this the WRX RA and not the STI RA cause it seems it dont have the red intake manifold and it has the WRX seats dont think it has the DCCD either know the UK a big place but car might look familiar to any 1, on UK plates any one seen the car before also what bhp 240bhp or 280bhp buddy of mine wanting to buy it going to go over it like a fine tooth comb next couple of days for him seems to have an APEXI aftermarket power FC to any ideas on the model cheers
Darren

Re: Bit of help

Hi Darren,

Not even sure it is an RA at all, but it definitely isn't an STi RA because;

No roof vent, no DCCD (no dial and no indicator to the left of the rev counter. All STi RA's have DCCD), has ABS (which means no DCCD), WRX manifold, WRX interior (seats are V3/4 WRX).

It's categorically not an STi RA for the above reasons and is almost certainly not an STi of any persuasion. Also it has side skirts which the RA never had (may be aftermarket of course), but it does have the aerial on the A pillar which is where it is on all RA's. Best guess would be that it is a WRX RA with a lot of exterior mods including; V5 STi rear wing, front splitter, side skirts (why) etc. Would give it a miss imo. The advert is deliberately misleading.

Re: Bit of help

Also no rear wiper as far as I can tell, so still erring toward WRX RA.

Re: Bit of help

Looks like a "UK" Classic turbo 2000 AWD. 1998-2000 UK classic had 218 bhp.

Don't they cost though? We know for sure it is not what it is advertised as, so no point pursuing it as the seller can't be trusted anyway.

Pete! Your post moved! It was above mine before. There a ghost in the machine or you trying to disagree politely.

(Didn't see yours until after i posted btw. No idea myself what UK specs are so you could very well be right.)

ALL RA's are 4 door. Mine, Ian's and Darren's are all 4 door. The Type R was 2 door. And contrary to what some may believe there was never a 2 door RA made.

Just out of interest (know nothing about UK spec cars I'm afraid) does your UK car have the aerial on the A pillar and no rear wiper? If so would be easy to fob someone off that a UK car was an RA. You've got to be careful when buying a Scoob that's for sure.

I see!

Need to take a look at some UK brochures me thinks as I am clueless.

If it is a UK car then that makes the seller even more of a lying so and so.

The UK classic/2001 bug-eye Impreza have the aerial on the A pillar and no rear wipe.

Re: Bit of help

Hi Darren,

Can you get photo of VIN plate please...

Almost certain it's a 98 Turbo 2000 without air con and the interior looks like import... with wind up windows??

The intercooler is slightly offset, to accommodate that after market strut brace

It is not an sti, type RA engine imho

All uk standard turbos had aerial on the A pillar

No rear wiper

Does the indicator stalk live on the left... UK side... or Right import side??
But has manual windy windows.... the air con has been removed... because the interior switches are present for air con??

The air bag on the pass side has an import cover, not uk cover??

God this cars a right mix up...

The wing is aftermarket

Interior standard type for 98 uk car... mines the same

But speedo in kph????

Please get photo of VIN number or take a rubbing with paper an pencil please

Can confirm the origin of this mongrel with the VIN

OR WE CALL IN CIS, SHERLOCK HOLMES OR BRUMBRUM
