Insurance

Just going through the excitement of acquiring insurance quotes, had two different firms say the scoob has the most attempted thefts of any car thus the high insurance rating.

Has anyone else seen any stats to backup that statement??

Does everyone else have this much fun with insurance? :P

I have friends who work in the field of motor insurance claims and loss adjustments... will try and find out more. :?

But I think the claim that Scoobs get more trouble than say, Fords or Vaux are highly unlikely.

i have a few opinions here!

If Tracker claim 90% recovery rate and a scoob has a tracker fitted - they should get real cheap insurance.

What i really REALLY  dont understand is why tesco can quote me 1000 ish (what im paying now) and the AA quoted me 4000 (its on tape somewhere in the forum)

How can two companies justify charging 3'000 per year difference

Beats me....

Happy hunting

Geepers, How old are you Imprester?
By those quotes I would say pretty young!

I think we have the same motor, I am 43 now and paying about 700 full comp with tescos ( who were the best deal for me) but insisted on a tracker(Sti has one as standard)
Liverpool and victoria ran a close second, shop around is all I can say, highest I was quoted was 1200!

No disrespect but I can remember my sales talk when I used to work for a national broker......I mean when I was quoting lads for XR3i / Rs T's etc. I used to use the same line, even thought it was completely unsubstatiated. It just sometimes helped close the deal

Always always shop around and take what Insurance salesman say with a pinch of salt mate

I'm the tender age of 26

I think it could be more to do with it being a new import with 2.5litre lump!

The current scoob is STi PPP which am paying 1100 with Admiral.

Liverpool Victoria were best for us AND they took on quite a lot of other scooby owners, due to us recommending them.
