exhaust advice.......

Hi all
HAve got a bit of a blow in the turbo up-pipe on my 97 wagon - subaru dealers reckoned 500 notes to replace it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have seen decatted up pipes on ebay for less than a ton - will it still pass emissions test without this cat, and how difficult a job is it to replace it?

Ta

Re: exhaust advice.......

de-cat won't pass a MOT bud, might be worth getting a High Flow Sport cat,run one on mine, never failed an MOT yet

thinking about it,don't you mean the down pipe??..the up pipe goes from the headers to the tubby

sport cat>>>Impreza Turbo 1993-2000 Classic : Subaru Impreza Ninja Downpipe with Fast Flow 100 Cell Sports Cat

Re: exhaust advice.......

Yes up-pipe is where the leak is apparently - downpipe is fine according to the dealer..............

Hi, Up pipe decat will not affect MOT as long as you keep at least one of the other two intact... dont expect any increase in power

The up pipe replacements on flea bay are fine... and should just fit on without any problems... hope this helps

Re: exhaust advice.......

If your buying an up pipe off ebay avoid the ones with the mesh as they are prone to split, get an all metal up pipe if poss.
