2008 WRX K&N high-flow air filter HELP!

Hi, some questions answered or opinions needed please.

Should I replace the stock air filter with a K & N air filter?

Will it affect the warranty?

Will it make any difference?

Can it harm the engine?

Thanks!

K&N filters are MAF friendly, shouldn't affect the warranty unless you forget to put the stock filter back in the airbox, the questions may be asked...wouldn't really bother having an I/K on a stock unit, only worth doing that if your going to be doing some serious tuning

Re: 2008 WRX K&N high-flow air filter HELP!

i`d go for a green panel filter meself or equivalent-ive ran k&n`s on RS`s,audi,Xr3i an xr2`s but still think theyre heavily oiled in comparison to other filters an although the mafs not as much of an issue now as in the classics can still find owners of other cars who`s had maf trouble an been put down to the k&n.

Most of them ive took out the plastic wrapping have had the red oil on it just by being in contact with the filter, got a jetex on mine now i thought were totally dry an blue cotton but it aint just a lot lighter oiled.

Have had a Green and then jetex induction kit on mine from day i bought it 6yrs ago (35,000 mile ago)and havent had problems with either.
