Exclamation buying a UK300 (poss)

Hello all, im really close to buying a UK300, 2001 model with PPP.
Theres just a few things that are buging me. I currentley drive a BMW330Ci my main concern, will it be faster?!?! The dealer im getting it from says its running at 262ish bhp, it has the PPP, an induction kit, stainless steel DV and a big exhaust.
It dosen't have the UK300 spoiler or any badges, however it does have the blue interior, it has brembo brakes up front and a decent kenwood CD/DVD player.
Is there anything in particular i should be looking for?
Thanks, Tom.

Re: buying a UK300 (poss)

welcome...
yes it will be faster than your beemer,on both acceleration and top end...
some people "de-badge"thier uk 300 to make em less knickable..uk300 will be stated on the documents, even do a reg search and it should show as the 300...
to check just listen for anything YOU think isn't right,no doubt you'll get the dash rattles n creeks, check for uneven tyre wear and kerbing of rims..any grinding or binding noises, shouldn't have any gearbox whine as they are pretty soild, also check heat sheild on manifold and sport cat and turbo,as the rattles from them if they are on the way out can be very annoying, there is a check list on here some where, but just use your common sense bud
also a genuine 300 will have the twin headlamps

The UK 300 had a plate with the cars individual production number on it, but don't know where that plate is, mind you if someone was trying to forge a 300 they could have somthing made up.Where as the wrx 300 did not get a plate.

Re: buying a UK300 (poss)

hey everyone, thanks for the replies, had some bad news today, i was ment to be putting the car on my wrk insurance but they've decided they wont do it because its too 'stealable' even though it has tracker alarm and immobiliser.
but there is a silver lining, iv had a quote for just over 1000 fully comp, im 23 with 4 years no claims so this dosen't sound too bad. id like to get it down to nder a grand really, i pay 700 pounds on my bmw330ci now
it is defo a uk300 it comes up when i type in the reg, someone along the line has fully debadged it. so its looking good for this weekend, i will post up pics when i get it!!!

The 1st Subaru dealer that sold your car should have the number. Quote the reg.

Re: buying a UK300 (poss)

gave the car a good clean and polish today i cant believe how good the paintwork is considering its age/mileage, it really has been looked after, the book pack is full of recipts aswell, i have STi suspention and brakes :-) also Strut braces, STi spoiler, Prodrive wheels, Prodrive mud flaps, baileys dump valve, PPP, custom exhaust, induction kit and lots more bits and bobs.
I had a run out with my cousin in his renault meganne 225 cup today and he was the same if not faster :-O only very slightley but I thought i would leave him for dead!!
Anyone any ideas what BHP a UK300 with PPP would be running at? the dealer said its around 260, this cant be right!
