PPP Upgrade
Hiya guys,
I am about to buy the PPP chip from someone. I have changed my BB to a prodrive BB but thats it. Is there anything else I need to do before I change the chip ? I have been told brakes on mine should be OK. What about the intercooler hose ? I have tried to find another but cant :/ Is there a specific make/model I need to be looking at ? Thanks Stu |

OK Stu for the PPP you will need the following:
1) Uprated SS Back Box 2) Uprated Intercooler pipework 3) Uprated ppp ECU 4) Decat Centre Section 1) You have this - SORTED 2) You are after the hose that connects the i/c to the turbo - Samco is your best option here, but be warned you will need to buy the whole Turbo hose set circa £90 3) Depending on your year of car will depend on what ppp ECU will slot straight in i.e if you have a MY99 Scooby then you will need the MY99/00 ppp ECU. 4) Just buy yourself a Decat centre pipe (available from most Subaru performance places). Resonated if you don't want loads of extra sound or non-res if you want noise ![]() With all this in place you should then have the PPP upgrade ![]() |

You can get a Samco intercooler hose and you will need to change the restricter in the pipe to the boost solinoid thingy....
I know not very technical but I am sure someone will clarify..... You need the right restrictor or you may/will get overboost THERE YOU GO NELSON TO THE RESCUE... |

The restrictor I believe does have to be slightly bigger - however it depends on whether Spooks want to go for a Full Decat (recommended btw) and then he will need to drill it out to 1.3mm.

There is a restrictor that resides in the pipework between your turbo and wastegate actuator. Basically the PPP cars have a slightly larger diameter bleed hole in the restrictor over the standard UK Turbo restrictor. Maybe Poxy can jump in here cos he drilled mine out for me, can you remember what the size was before you drilled it Poxy ?? Basically Stu mine and Poxys had to be drilled out even more cos we are running with full Decats and without the bigger hole we suffer with overboosting, hesitation etc. basically the car runs like a bag of shite

Right I think I see what thats about..:P
I wasnt going to remove the main cat on the downpipe, just the centre section really, so will I still need to do all this ? I just didnt want to have to mess about with the car to get it through its mot. GF is being a right royal pain in the ar5e about it too ![]() If I replace the centre section will it still pass its MOT ? Thanks for your help guys. Stu |

![]() second - yes the downpipe cat will still allow the car to pass the MOT its the main cat on your exhaust system and the one that make the most difference to your performance. The centre cat can be removed and you should be fine for MOT time ![]() ![]() ![]() |
