Just Rang scoobyworld about cambelt change lol.

Their price for just a straight fwd belt replace not changing idler pulleys or hydraulic tensioner is 201.50 inc vat ok if you want to risk it i guess but i wanted a price with idler pulleys and tensioner...............Couldnt give me one-great

Said we only replace them if they need it(fair enough to an extent however see next question)

Next question do ya keep tensioners/idler pulleys in stock.....no great scooby specialist.

So he said we can sometimes get them the same day but not always-you`d love to book ya car in them strip it down and say yer it wont be done today on just a cambelt-you`d keep a few in stock at least wouldnt ya maybe ive just been spoilt with places ive dealt with in the past.

If they`d have given me a price and it were reasonable would have got them to order the parts in first then take it-think its just poor when you cant give a price though.

lol to be honest chaps ive bought stuff from them before and had good and bad service-exhaust wise were no aggro at all, but waay bk when i first had mine bought some blitz irridium plugs an they took forever to come as were out of stock and had to keep chasing them to see where they were-hate that when ppl dont keep you informed of whats going off.

Not that confident of doin scooby one, have done other cars but for the belt changes think it always looks better if theres receipts from a specialist-just looks better when ya sell it.

Re: Just Rang scoobyworld about cambelt change lol.

tbh 99% of the time the tensioner will have started to weep anyway and need doing, so to not have them in stock seems daft

Well when i bought mine werent on any forums werent into the net much an only had one mate dean with a scooby but didnt touch his his self, went on net an thought right roger clark motorsport or graham goode pricewise there wouldnt have been much in it they`re both expensive but chose rcms then.

Were definately getting the cambelt out the way straight away, thing is its not due on mileage just on time-were about 4 or 5yr ago it were last changed with tensioner/idler pulleys but bearing in mind it`l be on say at least another 3yr`s seems daft not to replace everything to me.

Another specialist e mail`d-lets see if we get a reply here-just shows what a waste of time e-mailing is sometimes.

Will list who ive e mail`d and had a reply (or not)from in a couple of days.

Mine is due on age not miles... will get local mechanic to do it... will order parts myself... tensioner/pulleys a must while it's apart... this job is not that bad honest

Would think my local man will charge me 150 ish cash.... I have no air con to remove and this saves time... Main stealers want HOW MUCH!

I dont think a good mechanic will have much trouble doing this... Even thinking of doing it myself...

As far as history is concerned.... I always think the EXPERTS are EX as in has beens and SPERTS as drips under pressure.... they probably get the apprentice or ex Kwik Fik fitter to do it anyway.... as long as I have proof of replacement.... that should be enough if I ever sell the car....

I have never been impresed with the Impreza spares people.... they are up thier own rectums.... have been sent wrong parts so many times, after supplying eng numbers, chassis numbers etc etc etc They dont impress me at all....

Main dealer localy has superb mechanic... CVC Cardiff.... but they want me to sell a kidney to pay for cambelt and tensioner.... almost half the price of the cars book value

RANT AND RAVE

The best service I have had is from Flea bay small sellers.... never had a problem honest.... they answer e-mails and seem to know whats going on...

Another recomend local brake specialist Godspeed of Bridgend.... Very helpfull and not up his own sh t e r

Angry me never

Why the f ck do Impreza owners get so ripped.... they are by modern standards simple engines.... They want every last drop of blood from us... then they all go down the pub and spend our hard earned on babychams and rent boys Feck um all....

OK I feel better now and the ambulance has just arrived with the nice men in the white coats

Impreza owners of the world rise up:gun_chai r
