you CAN run them on normal unleaded but it really isnt recommended (as per the manual you can use 95 RON when 97RON isnt available) you would deffo be getting reduced performance tho and also the engine would be much more likely to det, and if you mod at all its all the more crucial.

ECU should adjust to better (or worse) fuel within about 40 Miles. And while performance improves, MPG will increase slightly (does for me - and gets 10-15% worse on [High Octane] Ethanol as well - use Non-Ethanol if you get a choice).
