Re: new owner

about 0.8 -0.9 bar of boost as standard. if you get a full decatted exhaust it may rise to 1 bar. to get it higher you will need to do some modifications ......full no catted exhaust, uprated fuel pump, uprated panel filter and then a custom ECUTEK ecu remap by a recognised professional ecu mapper.

not sure about using a boost controller?

Re: new owner

if the car had NOT been mapped the boost controler will do sod all...

best bet is go n have a few power runs on a Dyno, that way it can be detceded if the ecu has been mapped...mpo,dont touch the control unit until its been on the dyno,if it had been mapped,n dependant on mods n map, etc,i'd expect to see about 1.1 bar of boost..(just a guestimation)

Re: new owner

yea agree with above 1.1 is about right. Get it on a dyno as pilot said before you start doing things you might regret.

Re: new owner

if its got a boost controller it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was mapped.

best bet get it on a rolling road aka dyno and get it checked out. will make sure its runnign sweet as a nut. also might be worth getting an engne oil change as well.

Re: new owner

don't forget that your boost gauge could be showing wrong reading, they are not always accurate. my UK MY99 when mapped with some mods was boost peaking at 1.47 bar and settling to 1.35 and then tapering off to about 1.1 bar iirc??
