BLITZ nur spec fitting...

hello all!

just a wondering ive been having....
i currently have a downpipe decat, centre decat, un-resonated centre section and backbox all by hayward and scott (also on scoobyworld as afterburner).

its the 2.5 inch system, and i was thinking of getting the blitz nur spec S backbox (which is the nur spec R but without the centre section, just the back box)

now heres the query... does anyone know if the blitz 3inch back box (which tapers down to 2.5) will meet up nicely with the hayward and scott centre section?
im assuming it must do as i had the H&S meeting up with the standard centre section just fine, then the H&S slotted in just nicely.

another wondering..... will i get that awesome loud sound from the blitz back box added to my 2.5 inch unresonated centre section..... or will getting the 3inch blitz centre section add even more sound?
i dont see how a half an inch extra on centre section can add more noise? surely its down to the baffle of the back box?
thus making me think the blitz back box plussed to my unresonated 2.5 centre would be the same loudness.

im deaf in one ear now thanks to an operation, and im getting pee'd off with not hearing, so i want more booom.

Re: BLITZ nur spec fitting...

i had a 3" down pipe and a 2.5" centre and they had the similar size fittings and went together fine.
As for an unresonated centre, i had this too, and always regretted not having a resonator. it's just so loud! - too loud, but i did put up with it

Re: BLITZ nur spec fitting...

brumbrum, centre section straight onto the downpipe?
ahhh im guessing you have a classic shape?

new ages have another bit of pipe.

im on all straight throughs unresonated and all decatted, plus the afterburner vortex/ hayward and scott backbox and wondering if the blitz will be louder than it, as the afterburner ones already regarded as one of the louder ones.
also would the centre being a 3" instead of a 2.5" make any volume difference, or is it purely down to the backbox

ahhh the conundrums of life.

Re: BLITZ nur spec fitting...

i doubt if the diameter makes a difference. i started with a ninja back box which had a low rumble. when i added a straight through down pipe and centre it got a lot louder.... and yes mine is/was a classic. i think that after burners and ninjas are meant to be the loudest??

Re: BLITZ nur spec fitting...

having heard a ninja i can say that the afterburners definately louder. not much. more of a different tone. more aggressive, the ninja sounds more smooth.

thing is i always thought i had a loud loud one once i was decat and straight through'd.
then i heard the rumbling of a straight through 3inch blitz.
jesus. not so much LOUD it was more of a bass that you could feel. just sounded superb.

and yeah i cant see the diametre making much difference surely its all down to the back box to change the sounds once your all decatted anyway.

i may well go for the nur spec S, which is just the back box part, as im already unresonated in the centre... if i go for it and keep it on, my afterburner back box will no doubt be up for grabs to everyone here.....

Re: BLITZ nur spec fitting...

i went for it. got the blitz nur spec S. just the backbox.

it matched up lovely with the hayward and scott system..... but F___ me is it loud!

im actually considering getting a resonator for the centre now.

it sounds fine, nice volume, but then seems to rasp a little bit in the higher revs rather than a rumble.
