If it aint then it's the bargain of the year. Maybe they just can't shift it. If you're nearby get down and have a look.

Though as they say, if it looks too good to be true . . .

Full HPi check required.... cant be straight at that price... can it?

But people are feeling the credit crunch, that includes dealers and private sellers, but the price just seems to be to low?

Investigate fully me thinks

Re: too good to be true? WR1

Says its on vcar if ya read the details

(for those reading that dont know)

VCAR = vehicle condition alert register

V-Car means the car has been an insurance write-off at some point during it's life.

This could through an accident, theft and recovery or flooding.

There are four categories.

Category A (Worst) : Example: a burned out shell, CANNOT be put back on the road.

Category B : Example: Very bad accident damage, car CANNOT be put back on the road but parts can be re-used.

Category C : Example : Severe accident damage, car CAN be put back on the road.

Category D : Example : Theft Recovery/Flooding/minor/moderate accident damage, car CAN be put back on the road.

Unless you know the history of this car down to the last bolt or you are desperate for a cheap car whatever problems may be lurking, my advice would be to walk away...............

Re: too good to be true? WR1

Cat d`s arent that bad sometimes though i`d only be tempted to buy one if it were from the owner that the damage had occured with,"hopefully"if they`d got pics of the damage (all of it whatever it were)before the car were sorted out.

Wouldnt ever buy one where i couldnt at least see the extent of how bad it were previously, other thing to consider is ya gonna have no end of trouble selling it as scoobys arent selling when they`re straight never mind with a dodgy history

Dont think thats cheap as a result to be honest-im sure someone will be tempted but you could just be buying trouble.

Lets face it could buy a straight STi on equivalent yr cheaper ok not a WR1 but straight at least.

I agree with you dave,i doubt whether the insurance company would have declared a loss,if it had just been a straightforward stolen /recovered. I bought a 205 gti 1.9 many moons ago that was on vcar, got peanuts for it when i went to sell it.

Great cars though 1.9 205 gti`s adam a mates got a black one that he`s just taking a mi16 engine out of an replacing with gti-6 2ltr from a 306,dint think there`d be much difference but apparently should be quite a bit better-should be fun with his twin 45`s

Re: too good to be true? WR1

Thats funny you should say that mate,i have a mate called Jay ,that has a W reg 306 with a MI16 engine with a turbo fitted + a 6 speed box. Took me out 2 months ago, 130 mph on a 2 lane carriageway at midday, for just over a mile and a bit, before we ran out of road.A real wolf in sheeps clothing, and between 50 - 90 seemed as quick as my mates p1.
