Really really really stupid question - Subaru GL 1999 Estate

I've just bought a LHD Subaru Impreza GL Estate to take with me on my move abroad. Drove it into work for the first time today and stopped for some petrol on the way in. However I soon realised I didn't know how to open the petrol cap! I looked everywhere for a release but couldn't find one. Now somebody must be able to help me with this one!

P.S. Please help, else I might be stuck at work forever!

It'll be at the base of the rivers seat on the front right (on the floor if you like). There are 2 levers; Fuel fller catch and the boot. Smaller one is fuel. God Luck!

No probs mate. Do the same thing every time i have to use a hire car, and almost always park the wrong side of the pumps expecting the filler to be on the right like my Impreza.

Ok so now it seems I have a new problem. Have located the switch to open the petrol cap but the cap is not opening. It's making a sound as though it's trying to open but I'm getting nothing. The same applies to the boot switch.

Oh.

Not sure what's going on there then. I assume they are cable operate owing to the fact that they are levers. Guess they could both be busted.

It's not super cold there by any chance is it? Just remembered i had a friend with this issue (fuel catch only) on a Mazda. Was just frozen shut.Bit of de-icer sorted it.

The bonnet switch (not boot) is working fine, just me being stupid. The petrol cap I've realised is getting stuck. Currently takes two people to open it but hopefully this should get better with use and a move to sunny Spain! Cheers for the help.
