Strut Brace....

Anybody here running a strut brace on the rex? Just curious, does it make much difference to the handling or feel? And is there any performance difference between the cheap aftermarket ones and the $$$ aftermaket/dealer ones??

Re: Strut Brace....

I have a Whiteline rear brace on my wagon. I feel like it's stiffened things up a bit, but I have no definitive proof that it has. It certainly doesn't hurt anything. I'm not sure a front brace is even as functional as a rear one...with the firewall and strut towers being so close together. But, they do look nice under the bonnet. *s*

As far as quality goes...as long as you stay away from the $30 strut braces they sell on e-bay, you should be fine.

braces

Well I put one on another car of mine and it seemed like there was a big diffrence. I took corners alot better and at higher speeds. Its supposed to help the way the cars frame twist when under high pressure from turns. Well on an rx-7 there is a big diffrence on a scoob i am not sure

I had front and rear STI braces added at the same time as I replaced the suspension on mine. The suspension is set up to be atad stiffer than std but not that much. The car however is much better mannered through the corners, it turns in snoother at high speeds and is less inclined to understeer at the apex, and direction changes are simply fantastic!

Obviously having changed the suspension at the same time I can't say exactly how much of the improvement is down to the braces.
