Putting Tint On The Windows

I have seen many differnet versions of tint over the last few months and was wondering if anybody here at done the tint themslevs?

If so, do you have a picture of your cars tinted glass? If you have send it in, along with the % of tint....

I am seriously considering a back window tint but am sure about the best way to get it done.

This was something I was also considering Gareth - but I would like a tint alround if possible....nothing to Dark just a nice smoked tint would be cool.

If you do it Gareth be sure to post up some pics

 --- Maybe we should build a page that shows off differnet levels of window tint?

tints

Good idea Gareth, get a site going with the different tints on.

As for putting them on yourself ops: We had a go, what a disaster, we'd ordered the film tints from somewhere on the net, the rear window tint came in three pieces for a start. We started off doing one of the back side windows, which seemed to go quite well. We managed to get the other side window done before it got dark (bear in mind this was middle of winter, (cos we were so impatient) and outside (cos we got no garage) on the drive. The next morning the result was quite pleasing, the tints were quite dark and a good smooth finish.

A couple of days later, we attempted to do the rear window - it was pitch black by the time the last piece was slid into position. There were so many "fingers" and air bubbles it was laughable! Even had to buy a little hairdryer to try and dry them out!

NEVER AGAIN!

Had them professionally done by AutoAsylum in Maidenhead a while later for 194.50.

Excellent job and the rear in one piece too!

Ok, thanks for the information. Maybe not such a good idea to do them myself after all  ; - i would be exactly like you, impatient and "Quick Get Em On"

I firstly want to check out the different tints on the market and then make a decision if i should go for it..

tints

Gareth, you said to Newie about attaching a pic you need to point to a web space and you would sort him out. Could you do the same for me so I can send pics of my tints for you.

Shaz
