Best engine

Hi guys, im looking at buying my 1st impreza and would like to know which STI has the best engine, from a standard point of view and for potential modding.

The bug eye or the blob eye?

Ive noticed the bug eye is a lot cheaper and if there's no difference between the 2 then id rather get that and spend the money ive saved on some mods.

Re: Best engine

Cheers guys.
Looks like there's nothing in it.

So a bug with ppp could be the way to go

Sorry dave, never really liked the look of the classic although it does seem more popular than the new models.

So brakes, suspension, re-map, filter and de-cat on a ppp is more than enough power for me

Re: Best engine

blob will handel better, its 100kg lighter iirc, tuning wise not much in it, both have 6 speed mega strong gearbox's, engines should go to 400 without too much issue which is comparable.

i think i'd go blob cos of the weight

Re: Best engine

lol, you'd be surprised how much difference the weight makes. my classic at 260 could keep up even in a straight line till about 90mph with a mates hawker running 375bhp till the extra power started to make a difference
