Dash light broken??!!

hello all.

im an 06 WRX boy and i was wondering about this DIM twister on the lights stick.

should this be dimming my entire dash? when i twist it, the only thing that dim and brightens is the clock..... and it seems prrrrretty silly to have such a fuss made of a twisty dimmer if all it does is dim that tiny clock.

its been like that since i bought it. and it was brand new. i just assumed it was one of those silly characteristics that all cars seem to have.
but the other day i reaally couldve done with my dash being a bit brighter.
im wondering if its constantly on dim?

any other 06 wrx lads out there can confirm this as a fault or normal before i start dismantling?? maybe a half asleep worker forgot to attach something in the factory?

Re: Dash light broken??!!

The brightness on the entire dash/instrument panel should adjust. Could be the BRIGHT switch on the left had stick/leaver is on the *OFF position.

*Night illumination dimness cancellation.

Re: Dash light broken??!!

im reckoning the dash is stuck on dim.

the clock dims and brightens fine, the dash is about the same brightness as the clock when its dim.

thinking about it though, it should be a warranty job really as its only a year old.
