hi there everyone, I am new to forums and even newer to the world of subaru's. but they are a car I have always lusted after! I am now in the position to start looking for one and would really appreciate any advice on what to look for. My budget is around £8k, what year, mileage etc can i expect for that sort of cash? hi i have just bought my impreza wrx 2 days ago for 8k - its 2004 with 22k miles on the clock and full service - so wouldnt go any older than that for 8k

basicly got two choices.

a classic or new age

classic will be old but is more of a raw beasty lighter louder and tends to be quicker

new age are heavier so a bit slower, but are more civilised to drive.

once you decided on one or other then theres various models to choose from

sti is by far the one to aim for, but in a classic for 8k then a sti 5/6 type r is prob about the fastest bang for your buck

cheers for that, would prefer a newer model to be fair as the wife will be driving it at some stage with our baby in, and she needs her creature comforts! Sorry if this is covered elsewhere in the forum but what am i looking at cost wise for a dealer service and how frequent?
