lightweight battery
few weeks ago when I came back from holiday I tried to get back into my car and couldn't. The battery was flat.
I called out subaru assistance who managed to managed to jack up the car and get a wire up under the bonnet to charge the battery and unlock the doors. My car is delocked so it wasn't just a case of using the key. After checking the battery the guy said it was faulty and I should get it replaced under warranty. Only thing is I can't be bothered driving all the way to the subaru garage to get it replaced, so I've been looking at lightweight batteries from odyssey. I see they offer batteries which are substantially lighter than the oem ones. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of them and also which one I would require. There seems to be a lotof different ones on their website Any info would be helpful Thanks

was looking at them myself and it depends on your application.
ebar in mind the smaller they are, the less charge they tend to hold, so if your car isn't used everyday then keeping it charged may be an issue. other than that a battery is a battery

What you need to know is the "Ah" or amps per hour rating of the battery as this tells you how long the battery lasts.
Ie an 50Ah battery will last one hour if you draw 50 amps from it, or half an hour if you draw 100 amps. Pick one thats rated close to whats in your car at the mo and you shouldnt have any bother.
