Question problem with the clutch n gearbox

Hiya all.

Ive got a couple of problems with my impreza n wondered if any1 knows wot could b causing them.
The first thing is the cluch pedal gets stuck when coming back up after changing gear and i hav to flick it back up the rest of the way with my foot. Ive had a look n cant c anything wrong though. The second thing is the gear stick pops out of fifth gear. Neither of the problems happen all the time however they r happening more and more often

Any help that u can give me would b great

well the clutch sticking is usually caused by the clutch slave cylinder sticking. Mine has been doing it for months now, just havent found the time to change it.

Not sure about fifth gear popping out, could be a sign of worn gear linkages i suppose.

it should be if its the clutch cylinder, its under the intercooler on top of the gearbox and is held on with 2 bolts from memory. Hardest part is bleeding the hydraulic line once its changed which isnt too bad.

The intercooler can be a pain to get back on if your car still has the original hard plastic pipes beneath it. Probably worth upgrading them to samco hoses while the intercooler is off.

Ok thanks for tht guys. I will see wot the garage say when it goes in 4 a service. I was going 2 upgrade the hoses at sum point. So if it is the clutch cylinder it makes sense to do tht at the same time. Will let u no wot the problems were once its been in the garage. Fingers crossed neither of the problems are going 2 hurt my pocket 2 much lol.

Thanks again you've been a big help
