Unhappy Job to start

I am retired and live in the uk and Spain, first wagon 1994 i had for 2years and ran faultles untill stolen in the uk, so here i am with my new old wagon that starts good when cold but switch off leave for half hour or more and it is one hell of a job to start. I have been a diesel mechanic all my working life, despite being old i do still like to feel the kick in the back you get with my old Sub. Hi mate.

This is exactly what happened when my MAF sensor was on it's way out last winter. Started great and ran fine until it was warmed up but then ran like a pig and would even cut out on tick over. Not good at lights.

Would suggest doing a diagnostic and seeing if it throws up any codes. If you get a 23, it's your MAF.

Check this recent link on how to run a diagnostice test.
