My Oil pressure is a concern..

I purchased a 04 STi a couple of weeks back from Germany to Tenerife where i live. It's seems a good example and i'm very pleased with it. However i have a couple of concerns. The oil pressure gauge, i noticed tonight is sitting around 1 mpa on tick over, but i'm sure it was always around 4 before. It does go up but only to about 4 where before again i'm sure was higher. Oil looks good, just changed.
Also i've had some trouble getting the tracking right. The first part turn of the wheel does little until about a quarter of a turn, it also loves to follow ruts and almost feels like it coming out of track sometimes. Is this a tyre issue or normal??
Finally, excuse my ingnorance but are alarms factory fitted. Is the little plastic circle in the middle near the windscreen a scensor for it??
2nd Final....Workshop manuals. Are they available at all??

Cheers

Craig

The tracking problem sounds like it might have had a smack , I have found the steering very positive on my motor, one thing I do know about the power steering is it is speed related i.e. more power to the power steering at low speeds and less as you get the speed up maybe just a faulty pump, see what the manual tells you chap and don't have nightmares lol

Yes.

UK New-Age Impreza's have a factory fitted cat 1 alarm system with ultrsonic interior protection.

Thanks guys. I'll check the manual. Put the car in with the Subaru guys today just to be safe. There's no trace of a smack anywhere so hopefully something simple(or cheap, if such a thing).
Appreciate your help.

Rgds

Question does it corner better one way than the other, my dad had a bad Audi Quattro that had had a smack at some point and been rebuilt badly, the left front wheel was set back compared to the right front and it would understeer more on righthand corners much better on lefthand corners.............

Got a really boring bit of info on oil for you.>>>>>

One question it does throw up is maybe the wrong grade of oil has been used in your car giving you an incorrect pressure reading once warm ?????

Thanks again. pîcked it back up from the Scooby boys. They've reported all ok. No bangs, just possibly slight uneven tyre wear so worth tracking again after a couple hundred km running. Oil pressure is good, so looks like the gauge playing silly sods. Did the 04's come with standard gauges or are all after market? Got me curious about the oil though. Might give it a change to be sure.
The scooby boys were impressed with the car and didn't charge me a bean so all's well at present.

O good glad things worked out well for ya chap, and cheep too pmsl..........................I would guess the oil pressure gauge is an aftermarket job, where abouts is it mounted ???, also try changing wheels front to back in rotation, and odd wearing tyres won't show up so much on the rear, also are all the tyres the same make or a mix ?????

Yeh the tyres are all the same. Will give the swap a go. I have 3 gauges mounted top centre. Boost, Oil temp and pressure.
