Exhaust Upgrade Advice needed

Hi, I'm new having recently purchased my first Scooby, an 03 WRX.

I posted this thread in the newbie section but thought I'd also try here.

I purposefully chose a totally standard car, (my previous car was a Gen 6 Celica Import which I enjoyed modding a little).

The WRX is great, but the original (twin pipe) exhaust doesn't give the unmistakeable Scooby sound.

I'm not after huge performance improvements, and I dont want the mental Jap exhaust noise, but I would like to note the boxer sound.

Someone I know has a standard STi backbox going at a good price - would this make a worthwhile upgrade?

Would I get any performance increase and would I get a better sound?

Has anyone else done this, if so what were the results?

(Bearing in mind its the backbox only).

I could recommend a ninja bk box and afterburner centre section works out at £300 i think you`d love the sound mate they aint stupidly loud at all and you lose the centrecat so there`ll be a performance increase over just replacing the rear box-mate had this system on his classic an were a lovely sound.link below
