update time:
picked up the car last weekend for some tlc. Saturday 25th August - drove car to Powerstation for suspension setup, round trip of almost 300 miles, on low boost until suspension setup and not a problem. Car drove really well with no glitches or faults at all. Sunday 26th August - SIDC meet in Dawlish, day started at about 8:30am with a steady drive to Exeter Services to meet up with everyone. Anti-lag on................here I come! LOL. Drove a fair few miles during the day (in baking heat) some on high boost & some with antilag on, no issues whatsoever. The car pulls like a train, but without the neck snapping boost delivery, really smooth power. Very very pleased with the result. And the sound with the anti-lag is incredible, coupled with the WRC idle at 2000rpm with anti-lag on. Love it. Many many thanks to Martyn & all at Engine Tuner for an amazing car, really well put together and well worth the wait for the Simtek ecu. Cant fault anything they have done.

Just found this forum and thread and would like to comment on some of the posts....
I accept that the charge temp sensor on Phil Type R's car was tapped into the charge pipe and may have had a SMALL leak...This is how we fitted all of the first ones and have experienced no similar problems...The sensors we use don't protude very much making the fitting of a boss which they could be fitted into difficult...We are looking to rectify this situation... I am not aware of any other problems that Phil encountered due to work carried out by ourselves...His map required a small tweak to remove a slight hesitation , this could have been found if we ran the car ourselves for a week or two but most customers won't accept this practice.... Ther fault encountered on JD's car was a minor fault with the ECU's central processor , the problem was tracked down and rectified and will never occur on subsequent ecu's... We know have the car back to carry out a free upgrade for LAUNCH CONTROL to thank JD for his patience.... |
