tracker are the main make, there roughly £400 to have fitted, plus £100 per year subscription, think you can get a lifetime subscription for about £300 ish iirc

otehr thing is you don't have to use a main dealer, the imprea market is so strong there are specialists all over the country that if were honest are way better than 99% of dealers.
which part of the country are you from? (should be able to point you in the direction of some)

I had a Dec 2003 Impreza until 30th May, when some thieving 14yr olds nicked it and wrote it off. luckily before it went in for it's 30k service on 1st June (saved £543). - but I digress - I got the cheapest insurance deal from Tesco. I did have a cat 1 alarm and tracker fitted (mind you, they/the thieves burgled house and found keys and crashed it - before I knew it was missing). I'm looking to replace it when the Insurance comes thru. So if anyone out there has any suggestions of reliable places/companies to try give me a shout.

I had a tracker moniter fitted last month for 250+Vat after lots of hunting around on the internet. Then 120 for a years subscription.
Tracker do a few types for cars. Moniter is cheapest and will alert you only if the car is moved without the immobiliser / engine started - ie, the scrote sticks it on a lorry. Otherwise its up to you to notice its gone and alert Tracker for them to activate the device. It uses a homing (radio) device for the police to track the car down. More expensive ones alert you if the car moves without a fob on your keyring being 'sensed'. These may also have GPS to pinpoint and alert th epolice of the cars exact location. I used Direct Line insurance who gave the best quote but wouldnt insure for theft without the tracker.

Cheap Insurance
Best way of finding cheap car insurance is to go on either www.confused.com or www.moneysupermarket.com They save you typing in your details over and over again and only list the companies that would accept you. For instance Sheilas Wheels won't insure Imprezas unless you're over 35 - what nonsense!!
Steer away from all the adverts in the back of magazines etc - for instance Adrian Flux who say they specialise in sports/modded cars gave me a quote of £2.5K!!!! I'm currently with Esure - very cheap - only just over 500 quid. ![]() |
