buying first scooby

i am currently looking for my very first scooby, hopefully a low milage 2003-2004 wrx.
i was just wondering if anyone has any tips of things to look for before handing over my hard earned cash.
i just hope the thrill of driving my new impreza is worth the wait and travelling
