Was out for a drive tonight, for once tootling around rather than having fun, pull on to the kimberley by pass and bang, water all over the windscreen smoke pooring out fo the back of the car

once i got over the, righto can't be me, pulled in and shut off engine to try to find out the damage, called a friend of mine who happens to be a mechanic for subaru, poped the bonnet and turns out split the top radiator hose.

luckily water was stuill coming out when i stopped the engine so was still coolant in it, so touch wood (pats head) replace pipe, refill coolant and no other probs, i hope.

and the sorry sight

yeah pete lol, well fingers crossed anyway, recovery place are giving me grief now asking if its ok to pick it up at 12.30, but told em no cos it needs to be repaired

How many k's/miles were on the odometer when that happened?

wahoo all sorted, was just the hose, new hose on, refilled the coolant and jobs a goodun

its done 77k miles mate

My mate has just busted the MAF, and had some coolant leaks and other niggles. Same sort of mileage. I had to get him to explain to me that a MAF is part of a car, not a woman.
