The new Simtek ecu's are now available through Enginetuner..
Specs are as follows 24 X 24 3D Fuel and ign maps Closed loop boost control using the original solenoid Closed loop Lambda Closed loop idle control Individual cylinder trims for Fuel and Ignition 0.25 degrees ignition resolution Charge temperature ignition and fuel correction tables MAP based load calculation - MAF not required Adjustable Pressure and RPM breakpoints Will utilise exisiting MAP Sensor for upto 1.2 bar or Any aftermarket version for boost beyond this level (Delco, Bosch etc) 2 switchable fuel, ignition and boost maps A/C supported with auto shut off above defined throttle angle Live mapping Knock will flash CEL as the Apexi does Gear shift light - uses CEL Fuel and ignition based rev limiters Supports water injection and water spray with automatic control from charge temp sensor , throttle sensor and map sensor... We will be supporting the Impreza range from 93 -98 WRX and STI Antilag will be available as a cost option for approx £150 Having had a very long session with the designer today he informs me that future developments will include a small display device similar to the Apexi Commander , more model coverage to take care of MY2000 - 2006 cars and gear based boost control for the whole range... I've been told the Apexi's have dried up at the moment, so I think by the looks of it, these are the 'next' Apexi... If anyone has heard of these, please can someone let me know? |

the main issue with them (from my understanding) is that all are supplied, fitted & mapped by Steve Simpson, not necessarily a bad thing - however, no other tuner / mapper can gain access to the software so it could be an issue dependant on where in the country you are, as even minor issues will involve travelling to him or him coming to see you......................

Have been chatting to Alan Jefferies about these ECU's and as Tiny says its £950 fitted and mapped. Alan Jefferies will still map the Apexi but as Phil says stocks have dried up. I was at Interpro yesterday and Interpro are also fitting and mapping these ECU's at about the same price. SWS have a few lads having these fitted and mapped by Alan and Interpro will give you more info when I have heard the results. But it does sound very promissing. Think this ECU will soon take over from the Apexi. For those who want stand alone ECU's. Of course the Tek3 for the older classic will be out very soon. Bob Rawle was telling me he has been testing the software for these.
