Decat or Sports cat downpipes

Anyone give recommendations for which is the best option, bearing in mind i use my scooby as a company car and have to do lots or motorway driving..

I want to get upto 300bhp ish but dont want to be deafened while driving up and down the UK..

I already have the decat pipe fitted just before the original downpipe and a scoobyworld backbox on my 02 STI..

Is it worth doing the Decat or just sticking with a Sports cat for power gains and will it increase the noise ?..

I have managed to source (hopefully) a friendly MOT chap if the decat is fitted.

any opinions ??

Cheers

Russ

tbh i think you'd be better sticking with sports cat if your doing lots of miles, my full decat and most other decats are pretty loud for long jurneys.

you should still see over 300 perhaps 320b with sports cat, uprated fuel pump, induction kit and remap

If you know you can get it mot`d ok then id say full decat , theres no way i`d start swapping downpipes at mot time thats the only way you`d get me to buy a sportscat.

Cheers guys,

I think i'm veering towards a sports cat then.. I'm a bit gutted that i spent cash on the little decat pipe after the downpipe now coz it seems like most sports cats incorporate the downpipe and next pipe ! £100 down the swanny !

should i expect more power immediately or it it a high end thing ?

I own a Sports Cat but make sure you buy a decent one else it wont pass the MOT.

A few people (myself included) have had problems with the Ninja Sports cat from Scooby World, so when I get mine re-tested and if it doesnt pass the test, I'll be getting a refund and a new sports cat for the replacement.

I do loads of miles (for example this weekend, not too short of 450miles, quite short for a change!!) so I dont want the noise too much

I'll keep everyone posted with what happens with mine...

su[rised you don't get a second car mate, a diesel mondeo or something like that, you'd save a packet on fuel and wear and tear on the scoob

Thats the thing you dont understand guys... I do those miles in the Scoob, because I like the scoob!! I aint afriad of it getting bashed or something, as I'd just get another!!

Besides I have another car as well, my Mum's 306 1.4 I keep slagging off!! Damn thing drives me mental, but its not that much better on fuel than my Scoob, so I drive it anyways, for work

That mileage guys is just getting from home to Trudis and back, nothing else mate.. When I went to get my AP's fitted, I think I nearly managed 1000 miles in the weekend I loved it
