newbie with a problem

Hi people, I'm new here as I only just purchased my wrx last week.
But I'm starting my ownership with a downer, basically when I collected the car (due to me being in a slight rush, and also being over excited at owning a new scoob) I did not check the pack the dealer gave me properly, and although it contained the service book, owners manual, insurance certificate... I only found out when I got in that I didn't have the V5 Logbook.

Called him today, and he said it was in the pack, but when i denied it, he changed his mind and said he had it and to pick it up when I collect the spare key (he didnt have it at the time).

what are your views on this?

Also, can someone post a picture up of their service book, as my one doesn't say Subaru warranty on it.

Thanks guys.

for 20 you can have a good check of the car...

http://www.autocheck.co.uk/?persist_AffiliateID=31

If its not what you bought then take it back to the dealer! well at least try hey... Genuine Subaru stamps in the book by looks of it though..

Keep us informed... You def need to get the V5 as to sign the car over into your name...

What year wrx is it mate?new scoob you said though guessing its a import and thats why service books dont match(probably originally started with a foreign one) though suprised you aint got a subaru one.Trade-sales.co.uk`s a car supermarket many of these buy from abroad hence theyre cheaper and sometimes slightly different spec, maybe slightly different to insure(tho sure someone else will verify as not sure 100%)if its a uk supplied car originally i would be happier, though is not detremental to the quality of your car, so long as if it is you were told its an import, other ppl on here will let you know the score if it does pan out it aint originally a uk spec car as its a very grey area for me an theres a lot of if`s buts and maybe`s in what im saying, just looks that way with no subaru service book.

Ok, I'll try get em up later, as dont have any of the car at the mo.

Also, although the guy didn't give me the full v5 document, he did tear off section 10 for me - The New Keeper Supplement.

is this usually what happens? as I've never bought a used car before.

UK cars had a Sigma category 1 alarm/immobiliser system.

yes mate totaly normal, your details will have been added to the other section which is sent off to the dvla so the car is regestered in your name, give it a few weeks and you should get a nice new crisp V5 in your name through the post

My keys are exactly the same except I haven't got the blue subaru key fob.
Also, when I asked the dealer if an alarm was fitted he told me it was a standard subaru one.
Not sure now tho.
But in the dash when the car is switched off, the key icon flashes (does this idicate an alarm?)
