Hello,

Are all models of the 2006/2007 Impreza STI equipped with an electronic-controlled multiplate clutch (central differential) and a Torsen mechanical LSD (rear diff)?

I was just about to order a 2007 Impreza STI but i heard some rumors that some of the newly produced vehicles come with the older model differential specs.

Any opinions? How can one destinguish which differential types have been installed on the car?

Hi,

The 2006/7 DCCD System looks the same.

STi Axle Differentials: manual.

Viscous locking center differential:
Limited Slip rear.

2005 STi, Center: DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Differential) front/rear power split, 6 levels or auto mode, with indicator light
Front: new for 05 "Helical" Limited-slip front axle
Rear: Mechanical Limited-slip rear axle

2006 STi, Center: DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Differential) varies
front/rear power split, 6 manual levels or auto mode, w/ indicator light. Up to 41% front / 59% rear power split.
New for 2006: steering wheel sensor.
Front:"Helical" Limited-slip front axle
Rear: Mechanical Limited-slip rear axle

2007 Sti, Center: DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Differential) varies
front/rear power split, 6 manual levels or auto mode, w/ indicator light. Up to 41% front / 59% rear power split.
Front:"Helical" Limited-slip front axle
Rear: Mechanical Limited-slip rear axle

Is there a difference between DCCD system and DCCD-A system?

The DCCD-A has a driver controlled centre differential with auto setting & replaces the viscous coupling diff (A manual on/off switch determines manual or automatic operation)

Do you happen to know how to destinguish if the car is DCCD-A or DCCD equipped? Maybe a letter or indicator on the dashboard?

On/off switch on the center console next to the handbrake.
