Help needed...buying a car

Hey guys, havent posted for some time now, but need your help...

I'm going to view a Bugeye tomo and wanted to know any bargaining tools I can use to pull the price down, it is 9,500 has 30k and on a 52-plate...
eg. upcoming service costs etc

What should i look out for also?

cheers...any help appreciated.

quote"wanted to know any bargaining tools "

Heres one"what im really after is a classic" only joking but seriously if its only a wrx i`d be looking at an 03(blobeye) coz they aint that much more money in fact if i`d got 10k again now would beg borrow an steal (joke) to get a bit more cash together for a 03 sti which are virtually bombproof(engine and box)Just an opinion though.
Back to the bugs, its low mileage and if its mint i reckons worth the money if it comes with a decent warranty, mine had 6mths from a specialist, subaru main dealers give a yr usually so may have scope there with an offer mate.As for service costs wouldnt use that in your argument to get the price down-youve decided your buying one-high price servicing or parts if you do it yourself sorta goes with the territory the best tool youve got on your side is the time of year, if its a minter offer him 9k,if he dont accept up your offer slightly if you really want that car.
Things to watch out for generally-
usuall stuff like smoke on overun, leaks, whines, knocks from engine though to be honest when cold you may find a bit of piston slap that shd go away when warm-any knocks when warm could=crank-walk away!!!!. If you`ve never had a scoobs before the ticking injectors can sometimes be confused for rattly tappets as they are/can be quite noisy, high biting point on clutch ie almost knackered-usually on a scooby when the clutch is knackered the flywheel is, this isnt a cheap job with std parts though most ppl put uprated stuff bk in-a mate of mine did however get away with getting his old flywheel skimmed but really depends how bad they are.
DEFINATELY check for any roughness when changing between gears had probs with 5th gear on mine though can be any(in the end couldnt get it) an had it sorted by paul at zen involved syncros and new gear ring etc gearboxes are a weak point on uk imprezas big time(unless sti`s-mine started with probs at 33kmiles).
Dont know if this is as much of an issue with bugeyes but usually for the first couple of mile mine drives crap almost like a slight miss many ppl on sn have commented on this so dont be put off once its in the zone you will love it i could probably go on all day about stuff main thing though to be honest if you havent already i would get a hpi check on it, dealer told me he had but still got my own.
Last things check how many owners its had generally a lot of owners signify`s a problem car and check its service history-serviced at subaru dealers or specialists a good thing, general garages-not so good.
hope that helps mate,
dave.
