Tracker??
I have had an insurance quote from Tesco, but this is based on the condition that I have a tracker fitted to the car...
does anyone have one? and which is the best? cheapest? Is there one well you pay a one off fee for the duration of the car, rather than a subscription? cheers. |

I got a Tracker Monitor £300 plus £325 lifetime subscription, for saving £300 on Tesco Insurance 4 months ago (down to £640 with Protected Noclaims).
It was fitted by UKTracking.com in my works car park. I know it works because they contacted my home & mobile as soon as it was towed off the M1 with a puncture (space saver wheel didn't fit over hubs & calipers). Only problem is I initially chose annual subscription, then changed my mind. Now Tracker keep sending threats at me to urgently pay my subscription even though they've already taken my £325! "Computer sez no" at work here methinks. |

i dont think there is. tracker won't allow details of vehicles with units fitted to become public knowledge. the guys doing the fitting arent even supposed to tell the customer where it is! the only way you could find out is to telephone tracker with the vehicle reg and chassis number, they would then probably ask for a photocopy of the V5 to be sent through as proof of ownership. unfortunately they wont tell you before you buy the vehicle |

tell me about it mate. one of the customers at the dealership where i used to work had a problem with his. it was gettin interference from the cars own electrics so he ended up with numerous calls from tracker in the early hours of the morning
![]() horizon is the better of the units as they're able to pinpoint the location of the car even if its parked in an enclosed lockup. something to do with a gps locator, if i remember rightly Last edited by tom73; 07 Nov 2007 at 08:33 PM. |
