car got stolen

my new impreza got pinched on saturday night!
They broke into my home and took my car keys - never touched anything else.

police recovered the car via the tracker system sunday morning. they won't let me see it though as it is now part of a forensic investigation - dunno what it's like.

police say it was most likely stolen to order, and they may be back again for it. i need to get all my car locks changed + house locks

i am totally sickened by it..

Bl00dy hell mate that is awful....

Lets hope the car is fine when you get it back........

Get the locks done via your house insurance....

Don't let the buggers get you down......... They have won if they do, I know easy to say..... Get some security lights fitted to the house and a small camara to watch the car area and attach via your PC. They are fairly cheap these days....

Wishing you all the best......

gutted for ya dude, hope they are caught (although they wont get what they deserve)

well if its been stolen to order then they will have looked after it so fingers crossed no damage but will have to have locks changed when you get it back.

more than likely they will have left it somewhere for a couple of days to see if its got a tracker fitted, which they now know it has.

I had my old mustang stolen once before. Luckily I got it back in the same shape it was in. When I'm not driving it, I usually switch around the firing order or pull the coil wire off, so that they cant start it. Maybe you should take your ECU out or something. It never hurts to be cautious. Good luck.

Thanks for your comments guys.

I got the car back today - and luckily it was in mint condition - not a scratch.
Subaru quoted me on all new locks for the car between £500-600 + keys.

So what I'm doing is:
Got subaru to reprogramme my spare key & immobiliser so that the stolen key will no longer start the egnition - they did this for me for free )

Tomorrow, I'm having a local bodyshop remove all exterior locks from the car, smoothed over and sprayed, so there will be no way of entering the car without the reprogrammed key-fob. Getting this done for just over £200.

Car is being stored in the bodyshop locked-up overnight for me tonight.

As you guys recommended I've bought security lights and gonna fit them asap, and see about a camera linked up to my pc.

I'll keep you posted.

Cheers

Glad to hear everything worked out for you. Wankers need castrating.

Seems to be a bit of a problem at the moment, theres been a few posts lately regarding stolen cars.

It's things like this that put me off returning to the UK. I am not kidding when i tell you i could leave my car unlocked with the keys in the ignition every night and barely have to worry. I have no alarm, no immobilizer and no tracker. And bear in mind i live in a city of over 30 million.

dropped it into the bodyshop last night.
Have been told it will take a couple of days for all work to be done.

probably better that it isn't parked in my drive for the next few days incase they come back for another go at nicking it.
