When to use I/C sprayer

New owner of an 04' STI. I understand the basic concept of the intercooler sprayer but wouldn't mind some more insight on the best times to use it. Thanks!

I did some searching on STi IC sprayer.

Thanks! So good to know The default spray time on my car is two seconds. Is that standard for all models?

hard fast driving i use it but only now and then - when i know i want to give it some
