I'm just looking into the possibility of a WRX for my wife and a standard car is 500+ quid to insure. My modified Jaguar with a 6.0L V12 is less than half that .

This is seriously nuts - you must be very bad people.

Think most Scooby owners have a bit of a bad (mad) streak £500 doesn't sound too bad tbh!! I've just been quoted over a grand for a WRX with PPP but went to Keith Michaels and got thru, got a quote for £650!! Still shopping tho

Got mine through kwikfit for the princley sum of £428 fully comp , 9 years no claims been driving for over 20 years and with protected no claims brakedown cover and the dreaded personal injury stuff upto a silly amount so not too bad wish i had joined here first though and went through your list Ohh well never mind shes legal and ready

I don't understand insurance quotes. I was paying 1200 on a lightly modded new-age WRX last year (Admiral) and this year its 940 with Performance Direct.
With 10 years no claims, no speeding tickets ever!

Where do they pull their figures from?
Is there anyway to find out what ratings the companies have for you? Surely I must have been on their blacklist somehow as I often hear of folks paying only 400-500 in similar situation.

I tried Keith Michaels this afternoon. Got their quote - within 2 minutes had cancelled the insurance i had renewed 2 days before and saved £170 - and the best thing about it? I can do whatever mods i like so long as i keep it below 370bhp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting a quote from them seems to be rather difficult, also heard bad things about Adrian Flux though, rumour they are trying to drop Impreza`s
