Peter, I've had Subaru's standard 4 pots on there and now I have the Brembo's with uprated disc's and pads and I notice a hell of a difference in EACH step. The brembo's as well as the basic 355mm AP conversion (Alyn sells them) say they are basically more or less the same, but the AP being slightly better but if you are like me who drive around sanly and not go like a nutter, the brakes would be fine. BUT... If your wanting to go around a track day or something, then the racing AP 4 or 6 pot front setup's are the way to go forward. They dont suffer with brake fade or have anything bad about them, but they do come at a big price. We are talking £1700 alone for the 4 pot racing models. These are prices through AS Performance to who I would holey recommend you giving them a call and talking to Alyn about what your needs and requirements are as he know's!! The Brembo's are fine for me and my style of driving (one hard stop, rather than B road style driving...) but anything else, I'd go AP But definitely talk to Alyn as even different pad's and disc's will make a big difference... |

How much power are you aiming for Peter?
I've never had mine fad on me, but I'm sure a few people on here would. I would love a set of AP's but I'm also told that the StopTech models that Zen Performance do are apparently better than the AP's... I guess its all personal preference and depends mostly on how much you wanna spend I guess... |

Should be fairly simple to do mate, my VF24 turbo is good for 340 and I'm sure the engine could handle it no problems... What is the standard/current output of the car?
The standard 5 speed in the Type R can handle about the 350 mark (bob or someone could confirm or adjust what I'm saying here!!) but anything more if mistreated, would result in teeth being ripped off... I do know the 6 speed box is able to handle more, but how much I dont honestly know... |
