Shell V-Power

The new 99ron fuel from shell/ferrari
Anyone using it? Can you feel the difference? etc..

My V-Power clubcard came through the post yesterday, and I filled up for the first time with v-power today. I'm sure I can feel a slight benefit, but it may just be a placebo effect!

I expected it to be more expensive but oddly enough it's the same price/slightly cheaper than it's predecessor (optimax) was..

Cant use it anyways, miles from me that stuff...

Use Sainsburys super instead... Is basically BP's petrol anyways, just 10p a litre cheaper!!

my last impreza hated sainsburys super it used to run lumpy

but my new one must be mapped to 97 cos i put optimax in it when i first got it and it didnt really like it, which is a bonus to me cos ive only got 2 shell stations anywhere near me

Very pleased Unsure why others get running problems with it... Looking forward to getting it re-mapped with it

I saw Safeways had dropped their price of petrol down 4p a litre so its 89.9p for unleaded... lowest I've seen it in ages

I'm waiting for it to go down locally so I can fill up!! How sad!!

Look forward to seeing it around here

Petrol is a real issue around here - all the local garages dont sell super as there is no demand for it.. best i can do is travel 12 miles (one direction) to get it... So, as to justify this we shop down that way too

Its the same for me Gareth..

I refuse to pay the money that Esso are asking for it in Bideford, so when I go to Barnstaple I make sure I fill up there Always so much easier too!!

The day before v-power went live, shell were selling off the optimax at 85p/litre.
Also v-power seems to be the same price as the optimax was, so v-power is a nice little early xmas present for me ;o)

I'm using the new stuff and it seems better than the Tesco 99 petrol,

Phil you say it's ok up to 7,500 rpm so I have a question,

what is a safe amount of rpm to take a scooby up to ? I was told by the garage I brought mine from that they shouldn't be taken over 5,000 rpm or they risk throwing a piston, was he taking out of his a**e?

Well, I'd go this way personally mate

Get it on the rollers and see where maximum power is being produced
Then you can decide when is best to change gear and so on.

I know for a fact max power on mine is less than 6000rpms, so any further just is a waste of time. Its not a good thing to always hit the red line, I must admit, I've never gone that far personally.
If max is at 6000rpms, I dont generally go anything past 6500rpms to be honest.. Saying that, I sometimes hardly go above 3500rpms!!

I hope that helps but that's what I do

We've had V-power here for a couple of months now and my car simply sings on this stuff, pulls hard all the way up to the red line ! Runs smoother pick up is improved and I'm getting around 500kms (300 miles) on a tank in the city!

Well happy!

Plums.
